Interoperability Module
ETC Corporation has provided extensive industry leadership for interoperability, or reciprocity, between toll authorities and other revenue-collecting authorities such as airports and parking operations. As a result of this leadership, ETC Corporation’s systems currently collect 100% of all interoperable transactions in the state of Texas. Furthermore, the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority selected ETC Corporation to design and implement a reciprocity system with the members of the Interagency Group, representing most of the toll authorities in the northeastern United States

On behalf of the toll roads in the state of Texas,
ETC Corporation designed, developed, and deployed an interoperability network. Initially launched to blend AVI transactions for the North Texas Toll Road Authority (NTTA) serving the greater Dallas metroplex, the Harris County Toll Road Authority located in the Houston area, and the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, AVI interoperability for the two largest metropolitan areas of Texas will, in the future, expand to serve other Texas toll and parking authorities.
Supported by ETC Corporation, the interoperability network is positioned to undergo expansion to include parking operators as well as additional toll road and airport authorities. In the Dallas area, interoperability between NTTA, the DFW International Airport, and the Dallas Love Field Airport permits nearly one million customers to use their TollTags for parking. This ability is expected to extend to other commercial parking operations throughout the metroplex.
The system can be easily adapted for airport ground transportation, general parking, local community access and control extensions, as well as offering potential tie-ins to transportation systems.
